Children plain air in Bojetsi
The twentieth anniversary of the oldest children plain air in Bulgaria called “A fairy-tale come true”, was celebrated from the 18 to 23 June in Bojentsi. The participants were children aged 6 to 13 – students from the art schools “Batik”- Burgas, “Enkaustica” – Gabrovo, “Stuklo” – Kazanlak, “Vidima” – Sevlievo, “Art Rustika” – Pavlikeni, “Risuvane”- Russe and “Izobrazitelno Izkustvo” – Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo and Sofia. The main task for the children who take part in the plain air has always been to capture and reproduce in their works the unique spirit of Bojentsi, its interesting history and specific architecture. That determines the type of the work – usually still life, interiors and landscapes. For their creation, the participants are encouraged to use different techniques – dry needle, Indian ink and feather, charcoal and pencil. They also paint with pastel, oil, tempera and water colors; also, they make posters. The plain air in Bojentsi is one of a kind in the whole country. Its main aim is to develop the observational skills of the children and their imagination by putting them in a typical visual environment. As you can see from the results – bright and fresh children’s paintings, created with skills and originality. The main task is definitely achieved.
